How Much Should You Exercise To Loose Weight?

by Robert Kaufman

You can take a look at the weight loss industry and know that there must be many people seeking the latest weight loss cure. They are looking for a magic pill to help them loose belly fat. One thing that people sometimes overlook is the importance that exercise is to weight loss and overall good health.

So, how much should you exercise to loose weight? That sometimes depends on who you ask. There are differing opinions on this subject. There are so many exercise plans and methods out there that it can be difficult to figure which one to go by.

A number of fitness pros, trainers and diet experts recommend doing aerobic exercise for at least thirty minutes, four times weekly. Aerobic exercise is anything that increases your heart rate and blood flow. Work out strenously so that your heart rate is elevated, but make sure you do not exceed the healthy range for your age and level of physical fitness.

Many weight loss professionals will also say that it takes over an hour of aerobic exercise at least 4 times a week to lose any significant weight. Unfortunately, the experts in this area cannot seem to agree on a general rule of how much exercise is really needed.

How much should you exercise to loose weight? The truth is that more times than not, people set big goals for themselves and they end up failing. Setting exercise goals is good, but setting unrealistic ones is not. If you are new to exercise, chances are you will not stick to an hour a day exercise routine for very long.

What amount of exercise is required to lose weight? Start off with a light aerobic exercise, preferably something you have fun with. People are much more likely to stay with an exercise program if it is fun and not something they have to force themselves to do. As always, remember to set doable goals for your fitness program. Keep pushing yourself a little bit farther each time you work out and you’ll see your results start to compound.

Many people have not exercised before, so they have no idea how to get started or what exercises to do. For beginners like these, any physical activity will help improve fitness. Walking around the block may even be enough to make a difference in losing weight.

Losing weight is never pleasant, but it definitely is a reachable goal for those people who stick with a good exercise program. Stick with your routine and try not to lose hope when you don’t see immediate results. Keep exercising regularly and you’ll see the weight drop off little by little.
